As the battle raged on, Selene realized that she was losing. In a last ditch effort to save herself, she unleashed a powerful spell, one that had been passed down through generations of her family. The spell was said to grant immense power, but at a terrible cost.

The spell worked, and Selene's powers were restored, but at a terrible cost. The spell had consumed her, body and soul. Selene was now a being beyond the physical realm, space and time. She was a being of immense power, but also immense hatred.
